Chinese Honey Roasted Chicken Wings Recipe only These Chinese honey roasted chicken wings are to die for. The great use of honey, tamari, rice vinegar, sesame oil, soy sauce, and ginger make them simply delicious. INGREDIENTS 1.5 kg chicken wings, or a mix with small drumsticks 1/2 cup good quality honey 2 tablespoons tamari (wheat-free soy sauce) 2 tablespoons brown rice vinegar 2 teaspoons sesame oil 7 cm piece fresh peeled ginger, thinly sliced 1 teaspoon Sichuan pepper 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce METHOD 1. In a large bowl place the chicken and all the remaining ingredients. Mix and rub into the chicken. Cover and marinate in the fridge overnight. 2. Take the chicken out and bring to room temperature before you are ready to start cooking. 3. Preheat an oven to 180 c. 4. Place the chicken on a lined baking tray and then pour the marinate over. INGREDIENTS Canola oil, for frying 5 garlic cloves, crushed 1- 4 cm piece fresh peeled ginger 3 tablespoons soy sauce 3 tablespoons, gojujang (Korean chili paste) 1 1/2 tablespoon rice vinegar 1 tablespoon Asian sesame oil 1 tablespoon honey 2/3 cup flour 1 tablespoon cornstarch 10 chicken drumsticks METHOD 1. Pour oil into a pot to a depth of 4 inches. Heat over a medium- high heat until 175 C.Chop the garlic and ginger in a food processor. Add soy, gojujang, vinegar, sesame oil, and honey; puree. Put sauce into a bowl. 2. Whisk flour, cornstarch, and 2/3 cup of water in another bowl. Add chicken; toss. Working in batches, fry the chicken until golden brown, 6-8 minutes.
